Munchkin game

I found the game Munchkins very interesting. I felt like i was playing a PC game, yet it was with cards. With any new game, you need to read and think about what you are doing. With this game though and unlike PC games, I found myself thinking a fair bit, even once I had worked out how to play. With all the different armor, spells and characters, you would have to work out the effects of these yourself, instead of a PC doing it for you. This is one part of the game i did like. Im not too sure i will be a fan of the card game in the long run, but for the time being. I like it!

History of electronic games

Between the 50s and 60s, most of the early electronic games were run on university systems in the US. Mouse in the maze, HAX and Tic tac toe were early games that were created. In 1961, students at MIT programmed a game called Spacewar. The game consisted of two humans that were placed against each other. Controlling a spacecraft, they were able to fire missiles at each other. The game was eventually distributed with the new DEC computers.

In 1971, the Galaxy Game was installed on PC's at Standford University. This was the first coin operated video game and was a version from Spacewar.

The first console version games were created between 1971 - 1977. Developer Ralph Baer began working on it in 1966 where a prototype was completed in 1968, it was called brown box. The eventual licensor, magnavox produced the worlds first home video game console and was released in 1971.

Second generation consoles were able to read cartridges. With the games now being placed on to cartridges, it meant that consumers were now able to purchase a wide array of gaming titles. By the 1970s video games were:
Atari 2600
Intellivision
ColecoVision

Today we have seen drastic changes in the gaming industry. We have hand held gaming consoles as well as advanced online gaming. It is a very fun and interesting platform especially with the transition to 3D gaming not too far away

Game Idea

The game idea that I have come up with is based for a touch screen phone. The game has stages, stage one starts off with 3 balls on the screen. The idea is to be able to click each ball and keep the ball above the ground. The game gets harder as you move through the levels. As you pass each level, the amount of balls on screen increases, therefore making it harder to keep all the balls on screen above the ground.

Week 1 - Fun

To me fun can be described as something that I get enjoyment out of. Sports, gaming, going out for a beer and traveling are things that first come to mind. In all of these activities, there is an aspect of enjoyment and fun that come out of it. Sports there is a chance of wining. With winning, you get a feeling of satisfaction and enjoyment with feeling that you are better than your opponent. With going out, the social aspect of it is "fun". You are with your friends, having a laugh and enjoying the weekend.
